Perspective.... it's a Choice - Robyn Bachman

Perspective by definition is the state of one's ideas; the facts known to one, etc; the faculty of seeing all the relevant data; a mental view or prospect.  All of us have a perspective in life...how we choose to view the happenings in our lives; what we choose to believe as fact based on evidence; and the way we look at everything around us in general.

Drama is for the Theatre - Amy Sapp

To be dramatic is to over exaggerate.  Many of us over the years have at some point been involved in either being in a church Christmas play or being part of directing one.  We all know when we are practicing, we are trying to get the kids to over express or emphasize their actions or their words.  This is exactly where drama should be used, to get the point across as they are acting.  Key word here is acting.  It is not real life.  When working with the children involved in the play, typically it is harder to get them to be dramatic, because everyone is watching.

Give Yourself the Same Grace God Gives You - Molly Audiss

Recently, my family and I were at Cracker Barrel, a restaurant that I love, and we were talking  about some old memories from years gone by. Some pictures had come up on my Facebook page from when my kids were little. This caused us to talk about old times, and in the  conversation, my sons started telling us some funny stories, which involved some of the rules  that I had when they were little. And looking back, fifteen-plus years later, I can laugh and say I  did have some funny rules for my kids, especially my oldest.

False Fears - Marlena Whitworth

I remember my brother having a toy snake...you know the rubber ones that little boys like to use to scare people.  Well, my younger brother had one, and I was terrified of it.  I don't recall that he had it long, but I do recall that particular day, he had it out.  I was petrified.  I remember being uncontrollable, and standing in a corner in the living room, screaming at the top of my lungs because he had touched me with it.  My mother tried to get me to calm down, and explained there was nothing of which to be afraid. I wouldn't listen, or stop screaming!  I would not be consoled.

Is Your Brain Buzzing? - Candace Wessberg

Guess what happened all week?  Tons of flies rested on our screen door just waiting for it to open and shut.  Unless we made an exit at lightning speed, the flies just zoomed in.  One evening at bedtime, an incredible number of buzzing, black flies had accumulated inside the RV! They were on the ceiling, the furniture, and everywhere!  I was not going to sleep with them inside, so we got out the vacuum cleaner!   Using the hose, we turned the situation into a game and began counting. We sucked up almost 100 flies!!!

The Secret Places, of our Life: Psalm 91 KJV - Angie Weaver

I am speaking of that “secret place” in our heart that we don’t even want to go to. In the song ‘The Secret Place’ we sing about that place we don’t want anyone to know about. We forget God knows us even better than we know ourselves.

In Your Season of Waiting - Katelyn Tyler

I remember the days as a teenager when my friends and I would be dreaming of our someday prince charmings and pinterest weddings. I remember feeling as if my prince would never come. I thought I would never get to do all the fun wedding things. People would always tell me “Katelyn just wait on the Lord”. I remember thinking to myself “Okay once I get married I’ll never have to wait on the Lord again”. I laugh at myself now because boy was I wrong. If we really think about it. We are all in some kind of season of waiting right now. You may be waiting for the Lord to bring you a spouse, waiting to find that perfect home for you and your family, waiting for a ministry opportunity you feel called to, waiting for God to give you children, or waiting for your loved one to be healed from a disease. These are just a few things you could be waiting on.  These are all things I have personally had to wait on.

Showing up to Pray - Shannon Stiff

Early on a Thursday morning, I began to feel bad with a terrible headache, nausea and my  vision became blurred. I endured the symptoms for two days before deciding to go to urgent  care for some relief. The doctor there seemed perplexed and prescribed an antibiotic deciding  that it may be an inner ear infection. He advised me to see my primary care doctor on Monday.  On Monday, my doctor sent me to an ophthalmologist to determine the cause of my blurred  vision. The eye doctor told me the dreaded words that I never thought I would hear. He said I  had a stroke.
