There is HOPE - Amy Sapp

Hebrews 6:19
"Which HOPE we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil..."

The anchor is viewed as a symbol that represents "safety"... The anchor holds the ship in place, representing strength and security. The anchor is a symbol of our hope in Jesus!

Everyone thought 2020 was CrAzY! For the Sapp family, our lives were turned upside down in 2021 in a manner of speaking! My husband collapsed at work Feb 2021. He was taken by ambulance to the ER. Many of you helped pray us through this situation! Come to find out it was his heart. He had to have a defibrillator put in at 46 years old. Because his heart just randomly stops beating. I PRAISE the Lord that I still have my husband! Chad has worked for Pepsi driving a truck for 21 years. I praise the Lord that he wasn’t driving a truck when his heart stopped! He no longer will be able to drive a Pepsi truck, his pension / benefits that he has been accruing for the last 21 years have come to a halt! We do not know what the future holds, but our Hope is in Jesus and we know WHO holds the future! And we have so much to thank HIM for!

When we’re in difficult times, and if we’re lucky enough to have friends or family that care, they may offer encouraging words such as “I’ll be hoping for the best.” Or “I am praying for your family.” And it’s somewhat comforting to know that you have someone in your corner or many someone's!

But hope is not a verb. It’s not something we or anyone else can do for us. We can only find true and everlasting hope in the Lord.

1. We find hope in God’s PRESENCE. When life feels out of control, turn to Him in prayer. You better believe this situation has doubled our prayer life!
Psalm 62:6
" He ONLY is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.."

2. We find hope in God’s PROMISE —His Written Word - the Bible. God has given us SO MANY promises in His Word! Claim them!
Psalm 119:81
"My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word."

3. We find hope in God’s PROCESS, which almost certainly does not reflect our understanding. But even in our pain, God is at work sewing things together for good. This process may not bring our immediate comfort, but it is meant to conform us to be more like Christ. Sometimes the process is not always easy, but nothing can touch us, unless it goes through HIS hands!
(Romans 8:28).
God uses our struggles to produce endurance, which builds character, and character produces hope.
(Romans 5:3–5).

4. We find hope in God’s PURPOSE for our lives. If our purpose is to help or be a blessing to just one other person, in a way we would have never been able to help before, the purpose is totally worth it!
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

5. And finally, we find hope in the PROMISE of things to come. We are going to be alright! God has everything under control!

In John 14:1–2, Jesus says,
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

Hope is not something we do; it’s something we possess. And it’s given to us by God’s grace and the power of the Holy Spirit. Hope is the anchor for our soul and without it, we would be lost.

I know... From experience.. Sometimes this is easier said than done.

Put your Hope and Trust in our Anchor (Jesus) for the safe and secure feeling... There is no better way!
