I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes - Linda Snow

Psalms 121
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time fourth and even for evermore.

This is one of my favorite chapters to quote. I have several different reasons for relying on this chapter to calm my soul.

Being a widow in my 70’s, not feeling needed, some health concerns, needing to find $600 for repairs to my old car and just feeling lonely, etc.

I quote this and my heart smiles. I get it to visualize that I feel like a little girl sitting in my daddy’s lap, feeling loved and safe.

When I’m feeling bad, useless or lonely, just knowing that my Lord is there in my time of need brings me peace and joy.
He never sleeps. He’s never tired. He’s always there to keep me, to shield me, to preserve me. Isn’t that wonderful?!

So, when you’re feeling down, lonely, unloved or unwanted, read and/or memorize Psalm 121 and quote it out loud to yourself. Hopefully it will warm your heart and make you smile. Love and prayers for you all.
