He Delights in YOU! - Amy Snow

Psalm 18:19
He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, BECAUSE HE DELIGHTED IN ME.

Definition of delighted: highly pleased, made very happy, very pleased, joyful expression on one’s face.

This thought has sustained me lately!  He delights in me!   With all of my faults and failures.  My past.  My sin.  The many times I have a hard time obeying His voice, and yet He, the Lord, has a joyful expression on His face when He thinks of me!

Our ladies in our church are going through a Bible study on contentment. The first chapter was titled the basis of contentment. The basis of contentment is a person, the Lord. We can be content with what we have because of who he is. I love that thought! Our contentment should be solely based on him. Knowing that we possess Him, and he delights in us.
Through this Bible study, I have often thought of Paul and Silas in the prison.

Acts 16:25-26 KJV  And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God, and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s bands were loosed.

Their, Joy, their contentment was the key that unloosed their chains.  HE WAS ENOUGH FOR THEM! He was everything they needed. There wasn’t a material possession that they lacked because their contentment was in the ONE who delighted in them!

Ladies, HE DELIGHTS IN YOU!  He is overjoyed to see you!  Let Him be your contentment.  Let your heart rest in that you have Him!  He is our sufficiency!  He is our rest!  He is our everything!
