To Everything There is a Season - Charity Payton

Ecc3:1-8

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

  In life we go through different seasons and at times we have to decide which way to go.  One thing we must remember is Who is in control. What season or time in life are you in? Laughing or weeping?

Breaking down or building up?

Keep or castaway?

Speak or keep silence?

Love or hate?

We are all going through one season or another . Honestly , there are no seasons exactly the same.

Yes, you and I may have an infant that didn’t sleep well last night. Your baby  had a stomach ache while mine is teething.  Or you may have needed to clean your bathroom this morning.  You, because it’s your day to clean it. Me? Because Samuel and Isaac took tooth paste and smeared it everywhere.  (Yes , this really happened)  You  may have been up all night crying/ praying . You were burdened for a lost loved one. Me ? A phone call left me with devastating, life changing news.  I’m praying you can relate to something you have read and understand . To every thing there is a Season.  Every thing. Each one.

A time to be born. When my momma was between 4-5 months along with me she found out there was no heartbeat. The Doctor said a dnc needed to be done. My parents had no peace about that. They waited and prayed. On February 17, 1984, I was born a semi healthy baby.

I hate to say this but , I wasn’t perfect. I came into this world a sinner. At the age of 8 on March 19,1992 I realized that being a pk wasn’t getting me to Heaven. Not even going to church every time the door was open. Or being a good person. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. But I was 8! Surely I had not sinned. Yes. I knew I had and on March 19, in Cleveland, Mississippi I asked Jesus in my heart.  Now I know where I will go when it’s my time to die.

 A time of joy , would be when I married my best friend January 20, 2007. Also when each one of our 5 children were born! I could name so many more!

Everyone is going through something.  It may seem like the hardest thing you have ever faced.  No matter the age it’s big for you!  A different season a different time.To Every Thing there is a season - a time for every purpose under the Heaven.  What will you do with your Season?
