Sticking with the Game Plan - Judy Davis

The name of my devotion today is “Sticking with the game plan” trying to encourage people to just hang in there.  We often hear about Christians that just quit, don’t quit, don’t give up, so many people just throw in the towel and say there’s no use I’m tired I’ve got my ticket to heaven so I’m good but what they don’t realize is people are watching you and you will effect their walk with the Lord as well.  A lot of those people could be your family, don’t you want your family, especially your kids, to love the Lord.  I heard a sermon once that really stuck in my husbands and my mind and the speaker ask the question do you want just “good kids” or do you want “Godly kids” my answer was I want Godly kids.  Think about that so if you give up now how will that effect your kids?

We had a missionary once that would always sign his prayer letters “thank you for sticking by the stuff” If you quit doing right you’ll be doing wrong..such a simple statement but so true.

This missionary was referring to Davids men when their city had been burned and their wives and children were taken captive some of the men were too tired to pursue the enemy so David left them to stay with all the stuff and the rest of the men pursued when they returned and divided evenly with those that stayed by the stuff so I want to encourage you to stick with the game plan and remember what the Lord called you to do and you’ll be glad you did!

Also, God promises us that we shall reap if we faint not.

(Gal 6:9)  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

(Phil. 3:14)  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

May you all have a wonderful Christ-filled New Year   Maybe this will be the year of Christ return I’m looking forward to it.

1Th 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

1Th 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1Th 4:18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Cor 15:58 Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
