Stay Faithful - Becky Williams

“His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Matthew 25:21

As Christian ladies, I know each one of us would like to hear the Lord say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” I wanted to encourage you today to stay faithful in these areas that I believe are important to the Lord, and also under so much attack from the devil in our current day and age. May I encourage you to:

Faithfully Serve in Your Marriage

In our nation, we see an all-out attack on the very definition of marriage, but the devil is also very sly about attacking “proper” Biblical marriages too!  The devil often comes to us just like he did to Eve, and says, “Yea, hath God said?” (Genesis 3:1)  Does God really want me to submit? Can I really be joyful in marriage if I seek to put my spouse’s needs before my own? The world and the devil constantly tell us that following God’s pattern doesn’t work, yet we can only find true happiness when we do things God’s way. May I encourage you to work to have a Christ-centered marriage, by following Biblical principles instead of following what others would say. Take the time to invest in your marriage. Make your husband a priority.

Faithfully Serve Your Children

My Pastor growing up, always said, “Being a parent is a pay now, or pay later investment.” He said if we take the time to train and disciple our children now, it will save us much heart ache down the road. Proverbs 22:6 tells us to, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Motherhood goes well beyond the diapers and the feedings. It takes time and hard work to train and disciple your child. They are not going to learn to do right by accident. There is no tv program, app, day care service, or even church or Christian school that can do the job that God has given you to do! I realize that some ladies have more time with their children than others, but with whatever time God has given you, can I encourage you to not waste it! Teach your children God’s Word. Teach them to have Character. Teach them life skills. Show them by example how to live a life that is pleasing to God. Children are naturally curious and love to learn. I hope you will take the time to help them learn Godly things.

Faithfully Serve in Your Church

I was blessed to be raised in a layman’s family. My parents were never in full-time ministry, and yet they were always faithful to God’s work, and they trained us to do the same. We never wondered if we were attending a certain service. If our church had a service, we were there unless we were out of town. Even then, we attended church wherever we were. Looking back, this helped me to establish the importance of putting God first always. Fast forward to now, the Lord allowed me to marry a pastor, and I see even more now how important it is to have faithful people in our church. It is hard for the church to do the work that God has given us to do, if there are not people there to do the work. May I encourage you to faithfully attend your church. May I encourage to faithfully PRAY for your church and actively participate as your church works to fulfill the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:19-20)

This is an election year, and I hear many people say that our country would not be in as bad of shape if our Christians were more involved in politics. While I hope as a Christian, you take the time to vote, and vote for candidates that have Biblical values, may I say that you can make the biggest difference for our country by doing the work God has given you to do personally. Be a Holy Spirit filled Christian, follow God’s plan for your marriage, family, and church. Raise your children to follow Jesus. Give out the Gospel.  Disciple and encourage others to follow Jesus. Work to help your church fulfill the Great Commission in your area and around the world.
